Everything & Knuckles Explanation In 1994, the release of Sonic & Knuckles and its lock-on technology gave the full game of Sonic 3 the somewhat inelegant sounding title of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. Any mention of Carnival Night Zone will inevitably lead to someone cursing "That Damn Barrel." Many players couldn't figure it out and spent ages trying the more obvious method of repeatedly jumping on the barrel instead, since that also makes the barrel move a bit.
